Back in the Saddle

It's been over two weeks since I ran last... but this morning, I dragged myself out of bed early and ran an easy 3.5 miles.  It went mostly fine, but my plantar fascia (PF) is still hurting me... I really hope I can kick this before I get into heavy training for the TC Marathon.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

  1. Grr, I hear you, my plantar fasciitis is killing me too. I did 2 miles, 10 days after the half and was ok. Then I did 3 miles on Monday of this week and HOLY CRAP I felt it all day yesterday. I have a 5 mile race next Monday and then I think I'm going to take a few weeks off from running and work on cross training... or weights... or something. This foot thing is about to do me in!

    1. It is a pretty fun condition, isn't it? I have tried soooo many different things to try and get it under control, and I just can't seem to get rid of it. I've iced (and still do), taken Advil like it's candy (I've since stopped for fear of eventually getting an ulcer), used a night splint (it sort of helped, but it also overstretched my achilles tendon and made THAT hurt), an anti-inflammatory cream (that sort of helps, but certainly doesn't "cure" it), and taped (which also sort of helps, and which I do for long runs and races)... oh yes, and stretched. Currently, I'm trying "ice massage," which seems to help, sort of.
